The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) lists six methods for calculating Calories for Nutrition Facts panels. 4-4-9 is one of these methods. The contributing database sources, (USDA, manufacturers, etc.) may use one or a combination of the six acceptable methods for calculating Calories, so carbohydrates, protein and fat may not add up to the total Calories. The six methods of calculating Calories are detailed in the CFR, section 101.9(c)(1)(i).
In Genesis, you can override the Calories value in a Recipe, or you can choose to use the 4-4-9 method to calculate Calories for your label.
