9.14.0

Release Notes

New Features:

  • Added Canadian Nutrient Content Claims.
  • Added Canadian and European Union allergens. These allergens will be set to on by default. Click here for more information.
  • Added European Union labeling add on module.
  • Added EU Carbohydrates as a new nutrient. This is Total Carbs minus Dietary Fiber.

Improvements:

  • Updated the DRI standards for sodium.
  • The "Hide Gram Weight" feature in the label settings has been moved from the "Format Options" tab to the "General" tab. It has been merged into the "Serving Size" features.

Bugs Fixed:

  • Database Utility can restore databases created on other computers where the file location was different.
  • Fixed an issue where Genesis would crash when creating a barcode.
  • Fixed an issue where the same option would show multiple times in Format Options in Settings.
  • Addressed some scenarios where Genesis would crash when opening.
  • Addressed some scenarios where the database would not be backed up during update/installation.
  • Filled some missing values for recommendations for Infant 7-11 months.

Database Changes:

  • Database Structure version 9.8.3 required with Genesis 9.14.x
  • USDA Database: SR-27 (Unchanged)
  • Canadian Database: CNF 2010 (Unchanged)
  • Total foods in the database:
  • Total foods in the database: 65,000
  • Foods Added or Changed: over 22,000
  • Total Nutrients Tracked: 163
  • New or updated data for 97 brands and restaraunts.
  • Most items in the database had their names changed for easier name recognition and searching.
  • The Mexican database is now available for customers as an additional downloaded database.
  • UK database available with database structure version 11.0.2, with Genesis 11.0.x

Compatibility Changes:

  • ESHA Port(3.3.41) and ESHA Security(3.2.41) updates available.

  • Internet Connection required for installation. DVD available on request for additional cost.
  • Minimum of 1GB RAM (2 GB recommended)
  • Client OS: Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, Windows 8.1
  • Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 (SP1), Windows SBS 2011 (SP1), Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 (Update1)
  • SQL Server versions supported: SQL Server 2005, 2008 (including R2), 2012 (including Express versions)
  • .NET Framework 4.5.2 (.NET Framework 3.5 for SQL Server 2005 or 2008)

Release Notes

Improvements:

  • In a Canadian linear style label there is now a + between sat fat and trans fat instead of a comma.

Bugs Fixed:

  • The Genesis DEMO can now open Preferences properly.
  • Fixed a bug where the value for Pantothenic Acid was cut off in US labels.
  • Fixed a bug where Database Export All would run out of memory and crash the application.
  • Supplement Facts Panel title can now be changed to fully justified
  • Logical or physical width of a label can now be changed properly again.
  • The nutrient search feature only had the option for =. You can again use <, <=, =, =>, and >.
  • French accented letters would not auto capitalize if you changed the ingredient statement to all caps. They will now show in proper capitalization with the accent.
  • Fixed a bug where you could not import Advanced Labels from a .exl file.
  • Fixed a bug where Food Menu Categories would not display.

Database:

Database updated to structure version 9.8.3

To manually update your database to 9.8.3 follow this Knowledge Base article.

  • Fixed a bug with the default label settings. Some would be set to on by default, including "Hide Trans Fat".
  • Fixed a bug where users would not be able to access the application. Rebuilt the FPRole database role.
  • Fixed a bug where you could not export in ESHA Port without sysadmin rights. FPexecute and FProle roles are sufficient again.

Bugs Fixed:

  • Fixed a bug where Database Export All would run out of memory and crash the application.
  • Fixed a bug with ingredient length limits. This would cause any ingredient over 70 characters to not open. The maximum length for ingredient names is now 999 characters.
  • Added a command line call for opening a recipe or ingredient.
